Guest Post: Here's to You, Mrs. Robinson

Today's adventure comes from Megan at Here's to You, Mrs. Robinson:

My life has got to be the most boring ever.
I don't do anything or go anywhere or have cool stories.
Well... I do have some cool stories maybe.
But that was just when I was a much cooler person

Like one time my friend and I drove to Punxsutawney , PA for the day just to see the crazy Groundhog Day festivities.
It's totally real, guys.
In fact, it's kind of scary how serious these people party over a groundhog.
But it was pretty incredibly awesome.

Another time when my husband and I were dating, we decided to hike Mt. Timpanogos at midnight because we are super brave and thought it would be the most hardcore thing ever.
It was absolutely freezing and I'm pretty sure I almost died a few times because we had to share a flashlight.
But again, a pretty awesome adventure.

Now, my life feels like it has embarked on a whole new adventure that is still scary and exciting and awesome but in a totally new way.
Being a mom.

My son is 2-years-old and he is basically the cutest boy you will ever see.
I'm not being biased either. That is a known fact.
But behind that cute, charming little smile he can also be pretty mischievous.
It is an adventure like I have never had before.
{Well, I guess that sounds pretty obvious...}

Now instead of driving 24 hours to see a rat come out of a hole and partying with people at 2am, I get to clean up broken eggs from my kitchen floor.

And instead of going on crazy, scary hikes in the middle of night just for the heck of it, I get to stay up late with a kid who insists on watching Blue's Clues at 4 in the morning.

All these things definitely don't really seem like a blast and a half.
And I will be the first one to tell you that motherhood is not always a party.
But even though it's not the most spontaneous or glamorous kind of adventure,
it definitely is the most rewarding!!
{despite wiping up egg yolks...}
